Pre-writing in Rainbow

Draw pictures, create patterns and practice writing with this simple homemade Rainbow Salt Tray. It is a great activity for children of all ages.

Environment Indoors

Materials:

• A box with a depth of about 2-4 inches (e.g. shoe box lid)

• Colored papers

• 100g of cooking salt

• Sticky tapes

• Paint brush

Step 1:

Cut the coloured papers into strips to fit the box and place them according to the colours of the rainbow.

Step 2:

Tape the strips of paper together according to the colours of the rainbow and glue it onto the shoebox lid.

Step 3:

Cover the lid lightly with salt.

Step 4:

Get your child to write letters, numbers, or shapes on the sand and watch as the rainbow colours get exposed!
