Rainbow Celery

How do plants absorb water and transport them to their leaves? Use this fun and simple experiment to observe the process before your very eyes.

Materials:

• Celery

• Plastic cups

• Food colouring

• Straws

Step 1:

Pour water into each cup up to the 2.5cm mark.

Step 2:

Add a few drops of food colouring into each cup. Be creative with the colours.

Step 3:

Put a stalk of celery into each cup.

Step 4:

Leave the celery in the cups for two hours.

Step 5:

When the stems have changed their colour, cut them up and make a rainbow celery salad.
