Floor Plan Maze

Children will create a floor plan and play it like a maze.

Materials:

• Coloured papers

• Ruler

• Pencil

• Glue stick

• Scissors

• Straws

• Plastic container covers

Step 1:

Create a base for the cover. Trace the cover on a coloured paper and cut it out.

Step 2:

Introduce the idea of mapping your house's floor plan to the children. Together with the children, map out the layout of the house by drawing lines to represent the walls, and leaving gaps (of two-finger spacing) for the doors on the cut-out paper

Step 3:

With the drawn map, cut the straws to different lengths according to the drawing. Engage the help of the children in glueing the straws over the lines.

Step 4:

Secure the map onto the cover.

Step 5:

Get a marble or make your own ball by tearing a piece of paper. Now, you are ready to have a good rolling time!
