Animal Puzzle

Print out two sets of animal pictures. Cut one into a set of pictures composed of four or five pieces. Ask the child to complete the puzzle to form the animal
using the one which was uncut as a guide. Once able to do so, the child may do this activity without the use of the uncut pictures.

Skill Level: Easy

Suitable For: 3-4 years old

  • Physical - Fine motor, hand-eye coordination.

  • Intellectual - Observing, matching, learning the parts of the animal featured.

  • Emotional - Confidence, engagement and appreciation of the similarities and differances of the animals featured.

  • Social - Sharing with family and friends about the features of the animals featured.

Materials

Step 1

Put one picture of the animals on the table.

Step 3

Mix them. Invite the child to complete the puzzle by arranging the corresponding cut pieces next to the uncut pictures.
The child may work with just the already cut pieces for more challenge.

  • Two sets of animal pictures (feature at least 6 animals)

  • Scissors

Step 2

Cut one set of pictures into 4 or 5 smaller pieces.
