Pre-writing with Rainbow

What You Will Need
A box with a depth of about 2-4 inches (e.g. shoe box lid)
100g of cooking salt
Draw pictures, create patterns and practise writing with this simple homemade Rainbow Salt Tray. It is a great activity for children of all ages.
Gather the materials
Cut the coloured papers into strips to fit by pacing them according to the colours of the rainbow.
Tape the strips of paper together according to the colours of the rainbow and glue it onto the shoebox lid.
Cover the lid lightly with salt.
This activity is very open-ended but here are some ideas to try.
Getting children to write letters/numbers/shapes with a paintbrush on the salt.
